Opening in the fall of 2011, the St. Louis Regional Psychiatric Stabilization Center (PSC) is a not for profit collaboration with ongoing support from BJC HealthCare and SSM Health Care as well as support from the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the St. Louis Regional Health Commission.
PSC will be housed in the Metropolitan Psychiatric Center at 5351 Delmar Boulevard.
This facility is the only facility in the region built to care specifically for the psychiatric patient.
The Psychiatric Stabilization Center will offer a Crisis Access Service as well as a Brief Treatment Unit.
The Crisis Access Service is a psychiatric assessment and triage facility that blends urgent care and emergency care models. The service will provide 24/7 assessment, triage and placement services under the direction of a Psychiatrist Medical Director.
The Brief Treatment Unit is a 16-bed unit for patients who require a brief inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
